Four Seasons Hotel Opening in Marbella

7th Apr 2019 Four Seasons Hotel Opening in Marbella
The Four Seasons hotel chain, one of the world's leaders in luxury tourism, is preparing to land on the Costa del Sol with the creation of a 600-million-euro resort. This, the chain's second project in Spain after the construction of a 22-room hotel in Madrid got under way last year, is more ambitious, both in terms of volume and location. The resort will be built on a 400,000-square-metre area of land on the seafront, occupying both sides of the A-7 in Los Monteros, one of the most desirable areas of Marbella.

The land is owned by Villa Padierna, belonging to Malaga businessman Ricardo Arranz, who has partnered with North American firm Fort Partners and Belgian real estate company Inmobel. Four Seasons will not only manage the hotel, but will also give its name to the entire development which includes, in addition to a 200-room hotel, private residences and villas. The complex will also include internationally-renowned restaurants that will come to Spain solely for this project.

Of the 400,000 square metres of land, it is expected that the urban developments will occupy approximately a quarter. The project will be developed by architect Richard Meier and building will begin as soon as permissions, which have already been approved, come into effect, Arranz explained. One of the most distinctive features of the project is a tunnel which will pass under the motorway, allowing the hotel and the houses that are built to the north to have sea views. For this part, applications for planning permits have already been submitted.

The Four Seasons hotel in Marbella will carry a very prestigious architectural seal. Renowned architect Richard Meier, holder of the Pritzker prize, has been tasked with the design of the new establishment. No details have been released of how the hotel will look but with a seafront position it will undoubtedly be emblematic.
